Free to play shooting game Overlook 2 launches tomorrow season 2 and with it a brand new tank character, Ramattra. And just like last time, you can buy the premium battle pass to unlock the new hero instantly or you can grind the free path to eventually access him. But this time, after player complaints, Blizzard is making that second option easier.
Blizzard’s hero-based competitive shooter, released earlier this fall, hasn’t had a great first few months. Between server issues, bugs, characters being removed from the game, expensive skins, and issues with crossplay and support lines, Well, it’s been a giant mess.
One of the most controversial issues Kiriko, a new supporting character added in the game’s first season. If you bought the battle pass, you immediately have the new hero. For players who haven’t bought the pass, you’ll need to grind to level 55 to unlock it. Considering how much of a slog it was to improve the battle pass, not many people were happy about this. Pass leveling took a long time, many matches had to be played and boring or specific challenges to complete—like pinning five enemies with Orisa’s spear– that didn’t give much XP. Now ahead of the Season 2 launch tomorrow, Blizzard is promising an easier path to unlocking its new tank for free.
On Twitter, Overlook 2 game director Aaron Keller tweeted that Blizzard looked at the Season 1 data and decided to move Ramattra from level 55 to level 45 in the battle pass. And some challenges will be made “easier” to complete.
“Hello everyone! Quick update on some changes in Season 2,” said Keller. “After reviewing the data for Season 1, we are moving Ramattra to Tier 45 of the Battle Pass and making it easier to complete a few more Weekly Challenges. Excited for you all to see everything new in Season 2 starting tomorrow!
This is part of Blizzard continuous efforts to progress in the shooter “more affordable.” Naturally, the players on Twitter were mixed. While many seemed happy about the changeothers were still angry that the hero was trapped behind such a high level of the pass, suggest that a lower level would be betterr.

Now it should be noted that unlike the original Overexpected—which added all characters for free and without restrictions for all players—Ramattra will still be locked behind a paywallUnless you eat. But now the grind will at least be less bad and once you reach 45 you can stop focusing on challenges and the battle pass and just enjoy your new character. Well, unless Blizzard removes him as Mei or Bastion for a few weeks.
