As we recently reported, Cyberpunk 2077 is experiencing a resurgence of sorts on new generation consoles, with more people playing than ever before. And as CD Projekt RED gears up for the release of the game’s first – and, admittedly, last – expansion, it’s confirmed to be releasing a Game of the Year bundle for systems like the PS5.
The pack was revealed by co-CEO Adam Kiciński in a report published by Polish website Stockwatch, where he admitted that the sci-fi RPG will follow in the footsteps of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by offering a definitive edition once all content is available. “It’s the natural order of things,” he said.
Kiciński explained: “It was the same with The Witcher, which was finally released as a Game of the Year edition after both expansions and has been on the market ever since. The same can be expected in this case.”
Major story expansion The Phantom Liberty will launch sometime next year and will only be available on new generation systems like the PS5, following the game’s disastrous performance on older consoles like the PS4. The good news is that Cyberpunk 2077 is a lot more fun these days – we even awarded it an 8/10 in our PS5 review.
